When I was forced out of New Orleans by the ravishing floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina, I ended up in Baton Rouge River Center. From there I was offered free housing for 5 years free rent; in a community called "Canadaville". It was designed for the 2005 Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees fleeing from New Orleans and surrounding areas. I became depressed not knowing what I was going to do in a small town. But I stared at the trees in front of me and I got the initial spark to put pen to paper. I started writing and kept writing. I started writing newsletters for the community, then the local newspaper. And now I am a freelance writer and I have ended my first book, and into the second book. My goal is to become a professional published author, 2012 will be the year to get published.
