Re: “New Orleans church leaders call for Confederate monument removal

Well Mr Naccari maybe if over 60% of the population did not have to be offened by a confederate general standing hundreds of feet in the air looking at them everyday of their lives, then it might be possible the crime rate would go down, From birth to adulthood children see these statues of hate against them. I think I also would be a criminal if my city posted statues all over the city that did not like me.

Re: “Review: Be a New Orleanian: A Swearing-In Ceremony

First of all how do you pronounce the name? New Awlins, New Or Leans, New Or lee uns, New Or Yuns, New Or Yins or Nawlins. Six different ways to say it and the natives from different parts of the city use every single one of them.
Also is it worthy of mention that he skipped over race? What else did he skip? Betsy, Trump,Obama? Why is the fact that he skipped race worth mentioning? First of all we have every type of black personality available. Just like the white folks the black folks go from the religious to the real characters to the criminal. What would you prefer he not skim over? Let's just say New Orleanians are very different as well as very much alike, in all races.
I have found myself loving our black population for all they bring to us, and I can say the same for the Italians, Irish, German, French,Acadians etc.

Re: “Best of New Orleans® 2015

I live on oak st. Those places are not where I hang out. Plus they are not even close to what werlin's was and cannot match the price of the box sitting on my front porch just delivered by ups and tax free. Sad but true. I am not driving to those places to pay tax plus a higher price. And I find that a lot of these places are gone within a year. Also werlins was very diversefied. They knew about sheet music to pianos to harpsichords. Today everything is about the guitar. Go to any of these places you mentioned and ask them what key harmonica do you need if the band is playing in E. And what is the best mic for a blues harp and also an amp. I have never seem so many dumbfounded looks in my life.

Re: “Best of New Orleans® 2015

Vincent-I guess cause when Werlin's closed there was not much left in regards to musical instrument stores. Werlin's was our real deal music store! I now buy all of my harmonicas, soprano sax, alto sax and flutes online. They get delivered to my door tax free, shipping free, and cheaper than any physical store. Sad to say bro!

Re: “Katrina at 10: Margo and Clancy DuBos say thank you, New Orleans

New Orleanians always pull back together. Though I wish Gambit had grown in size and voice, especially when the T-P let us down, it is still important to have Gambit. I never take it for granted no matter how big or small it is.
