Re: “"New Orleans became a blank slate after Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005..."

There is a fine line between preserving culture, and moving forward. Gas lamps are important because they are historical. Twisty light bulbs are important because they use less power. I am a firm supporter of both. I think the Quarter would be better if every building had gas lamps outside.

I also quite enjoy meat, and all the totally unhealthy food i have to work off, but i really don't mind vegans either. If one is a stuck up dick, then he is a stuck up dick. I know plenty of heathy eating people that are not like that. I grew up a couple hours away, so i am a transplant myself, but i grew up in love with New Orleans, and the people here.

Re: “O.C. Haley Avenue: The New Freret?

Say what you will, but Las Vegas would not even exist if it were not for the strip. It would literally not exist at all. The city was a small town until it turned into the biggest Casino city i the country. New Orleans thankfully has growth in other sectors other then tourism, but if you killed off Bourbon St i can promise you one thing. It would be a ENORMOUS blow to the economy.
