For anyone to *assume* or *hope* that power would be restored to 500,000+ in less than a week is foolish.

I evacuated with my family, which included my 84 year old grandmother, 4 year old nephew, and 5 year old niece. We were out of town through Friday. Each day from Wed-Fri, I received text message updates from Entergy alerting us of the status of our power.

It's really disappointing and very frustrating to hear so many people complaining about not having electricity when so many others don't have a home or job to go back to.

Weatherman could barely give us a good idea of where the storm was going to go. How does one expect Entergy to know exactly where trees are going to fall? And in regard to the poles that broke- did Stacy Head happen to see any of the massive hundred year old healthy trees that were knocked over?

If wind can knock those trees over, I'm not surprised to see poles snapped in half. When Gustav hit, most of East Baton Rouge (including myself) lived without power for close to 3 weeks. A week doesn't seem so bad after 3.
