Well Edited,.... my mom went through ww2 with her husband at war for 2 years, so she played baseball. Today at 96 she had special privlege in voting. Yes...she waited in line ,leaning on her walker for hours. Her time is not so valuable I guess.
DiMarco does not have to speak German because of men and women from the "greatest generation".
She has more bravery, courage, toughness, honesty and fortitude than DiMarco could ever dream of. We need to loose this looser. Jeff parish surely does not need him.

Oh yes...but our local guy Mel Parnell was pretty awesome too.
Azalea Gardens and then up jeff hwy to where Haydels Bakery is you will find Camelia Gardens. Built at the same time by the same people, and are the same design. The only difference is that they are single family houses, not doubles. If you look on a map you can still see the outline from Camelia Gardens to Azalea Gardens as still looking like the old race track that was there, callled Jefferson Downs. Don't know about it being farmland because during my childhood during the 30's, it was a large racetrack. I suppose everything was farmland at one time.
It is neat to look on a map and see the outline of the entire racetrack, from the parking lot to the stalls.
Thursdays is locals day! What a joke. Jazz fest has not been for locals since the 70's. Anytime New Orleans comes up with something good it is mandatory that we share it with the world and then eventually sell it to the world and it then belongs to them
swamp runner-you need a brain enema.Maybe it is you who should study.Flush your conspiracy theory out of your brain. Then YOU study what the civil war was about.
Do you think that it could be the Delhi educators that got it wrong...or is it our own historians and experts here that got it wrong?
And did you know that JFK, Elvis,Marilyn Monroe all died of natual cause on an island?
Yes these were ploys to get out of the public eye!
Oh boy what memories from the 60's.After watching a musical lineup at "The Warehouse" of Wet Willy, Marshal Tucker, Charlie Daniels, and the Allman Bros Band...all for $5 I might add! We would have the muchies really bad and a few dozen Manuel's hot tamales went down better than sliders. He also had a full blown mexican restaurant on jeff hwy near Oschner Hospital. Yeah for sure..."it ain't dere no mo"
Re: “Daylight Saving Time …”
I don't care if we stay on or off but let's stay on one. The change, both times per year, takes a 1-2 week toll on my energy, sleep and well being. It has been shown that each spring forward raises the heart attack rate by 25%, and it has also been shown that DST does NOT conserve energy. People often say that we gain an hour of daylight. NONSENSE...we simply move the daylight from morning to evening. The length of daylight is determined by the earth and the two tropics, not by man changing his clock.
