Eric Skrmetta,

public service commissioner from Metairie, recently voted against a ban on free food and beverages for commissioners from the companies the Public Service Commission regulates. Skrmetta replaced Jay Blossman, who accepted more than $1,500 in free meals on 49 different occasions in a period of less than three years. Thankfully, three other PSC commissioners recognized the obvious ethical problem of being wined and dined by those they're supposed to be regulating, and now the ban is in effect.
