Café Ami opens in CBD

New coffeeshop serves coffee, teas and pastries

There's a new place to get a coffee buzz in the Central Business District. Cafe Bon Ami is now open at 822 Perdido St.

Sisters Bonnie Dye and Amy Dye Domangue opened the cafe this week in Factor's Row, near the corner of Carondelet and Perdido streets. The shop serves coffee and espresso drinks from New York's Cafe Grumpy and tea blends from Bellocq Tea Atelier, also in Brooklyn.

Local baker Christina Balzebre of Levee Baking Co. is supplying baked goods, which include vegan pastries, and the owners say they plan to expand the menu this spring to include breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches and grain bowls.
