Re: “Clancy DuBos: First, do no harm

Well said, Clancy. Thanks for telling it like it is. I've often wondered how some politicians can sleep at night when they put their own personal financial interest above the interests of their constituents.

Re: “Getting real about REAL ID

I naively thought that in the post-Jindal era--after seeing the damage to our state brought by a politician whose political ambitions nearly destroyed our state--our state legislators would start acting in the best interests of their constituents. Silly me!
Unless the state senate prevails, another knuckle-dragging politician seeking higher office (US House) will burden the citizens with more fees and inconveniences and again make us the laughing stock of the nation. Has the Louisiana Family Forum ever supported anything other than their extreme right-wing agenda?

Re: “Another task force study on Louisiana budget issues?

While we're talking about sin taxes, legalize and tax the sale of marijuana in Louisiana. Colorado netted $70 million in sales taxes on marijuana in FY 2015, which was more than they made taxing alcohol.

I know this proposition won't fly north of I-10, but we need to be creative.

Re: “Carville, Matalin entertain Loyola audience with thoughts on 2016 politics

Clancy--you did a marvelous job moderating this family feud. It was fun and enlightening. My only complaint was that the auditorium was way too small for the overflow crowd. Nexttime, hold it in the Superdome.

Re: “Bobby Jindal’s F-word tour of Louisiana

Excellent piece, Clancy, said with passion. Instead of taking a victory lap, BJ should have be placed in a cage like a circus animal and drawn by two mules through the cities and towns of Louisiana, where he could hear the sentiments of the citizens of this state who where deprived of jobs, educational opportunities and medical care, all in promotion of his personal agenda.

Re: “'Changing a people's mores'

Clancy--thanks for championing a true hero of our times. Judge Wright, as well as Judge John Minor Wisdom, were brilliant, bold and brave legal scholars who paved the way for African Americans to finally become first class citizens.

Re: “The race for Orleans Parish Sheriff

Who among these three is the lesser of evils? Reminds me of our choice of Edwards vs. Duke and "vote for the crook, it's important." I wish some younger, more progressive type who is free of the baggage these guys carry, would get in the race and give us a real choice.
