Canadian team brings own alcohol to Olympics 

"Who wants to watch curling sober? No one. I'll tell you that right now."

Scott Simms, a Canadian at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, as quoted in a Wall Street Journal story about the "driest Olympics in memory." Russia passed a law banning alcohol in sporting arenas, leaving many visitors unhappy. In an interesting workaround, some Canadians brought a vending machine stocked with free Molson beer. The catch? It only operates with the swipe of a Canadian passport.
