Re: “Pyrateweek

pyrateweek started off by working with the lowernine.org. volunteers signed up to rebuild, and help out some folks.... attached to this idea, fundraising for local charities... the friday night parade consisted of locals, various krewes from mardi gras. nola krewe of pyrates blowing bead cannons, hash house harriers and their pyrate ship of beads, and blow up dolls, classic cars, kelly israels hearse, and lots of children and pyrates. the family of officer tommy felix, marched with us, with waifnola. All in all, raising awareness of fundraising and charity. spreading folks throughout the city, and not just concentrating in the quarter. For those of you who came out, we thank you for your participation. the noisition coalition was leading the parade, the goodchildren carnival club band, and amzie adams.... the organizers wish to thank all who got involved. it will only continue to grow into a fun festival for all to enjoy. Next year we'll be working again with lowernine, and st bernard parish. waifnola, and the childrens leukemia cup regatta through the new orleans yaght club... Captain papillion went to the childrens hospital with pyrates on thursday day, entertaining the kids, and has come aboard with his festival of jean lafitte. We look forward to working with the krewe of pyrates to make next years event even more widespread. For those wanting more information... go to www.pyrateweek.com

thanks to the avenue pub, the hi ho lounge, and st roch tavern for hosting several of the charity events... thanks to the women of burlesque here in new orleans... reverend spooky lestrange, and her billion dollar babies, fleur de tease, and bustout burlesque...
