Re: “Blake Pontchartrain: The naval base on Poland Avenue

No mention of armed soldiers preventing New Orleans citizens, seeking refuge from Katrina flood water, from entering the complex in 2005?? What a disgraceful moment that was!

Re: “Blakeview: Godchaux’s

Don't forget the Godchaux Dairy on Calhoun Street in the 1930s, located where Sunshine Daydream is today, across from Ted's Frostop. The Godchaux family was related by marriage to many other Jewish immigrant merchants of the day, including the Fellmans, Sterns (Sears), Fieblemans, Hillers, Newmans (Maison Blanche), Krausses, Mayer Israel, etc.

Re: “Cynthia Willard-Lewis and Gail Glapion to star in Oliver Thomas' sequel to his play Reflections

Easy to explain: CWL thought the title was "Reelections." And Glapion misread it as "Deflections." 'nuf said. They are all "Rejections."

Re: “Guidry vows to derail freight rerouting

Yes, better to run freight along high ground on fairly straight FRA Class 3 tracks (Back Belt in Old Metairie) than slosh it around a sharp curve on marshy soil (Middle Belt in Mid-City). Most emphatically "yes".

We often hear of marriages wherein one or the other spouse "comes out of the closet". What if BOTH a husband and his wife did so?? I'd love to hear what this hypocritical court would say about the fate of their adopted child! Would the State presume to remove a child from a home that now declares itself to have "a gay married couple" (i.e. a gay man married to his lesbian wife)? Someone should test such a case in Louisiana, and expose the Supreme Court as the buffoons they so clearly are.

Re: “QR as Folk

Sadly, few readers (not even most techies!) know that the URL-shortening service GOO.GL (a free Google service, recently opened to the public) automatically creates these graphic QR codes. All you do is append .qr to the end of any GOO.GL-shortened link:
