Council Time Change

Can't make a New Orleans City Council meeting because you have to work in the mornings? Now you can — maybe. Beginning Aug. 26, the council will hold every fourth meeting at 3 p.m. in an effort to draw in those who can't make the regular 10 a.m. meetings, says council President Arnie Fielkow.

In a statement, Fielkow wrote, "This pilot program will hopefully afford more citizens who might not have had the chance before the opportunity to engage and participate in the city's legislative process." To sign up for emailed council newsletters and calendars, visit — Kevin Allman
