Crescent City Classic returns March 31 

The 10k race is followed by a festival in City Park

The 40th running of the Crescent City Classic is March 31. The 10-kilometer race is open to competitive and noncompetitive runners. The course begins near the Superdome and winds through the French Quarter to Esplanade Avenue and the finish line in New Orleans City Park. The post-race festival (8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) includes music by the Boogie Wonder Band, award presentations, a costume contest and a kids' activities area. There also is a two-day health and fitness expo March 29-30 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Race registration is $50 online through March 28 and $55 online or at the expo March 29-30. Racefest in City Park is free to race participants and children ages 10 and under. Racefest tickets are $15 in advance or $20 March 31. Visit www.ccc.10k.com for information and to register.
