Re: “You still believe in me: Brian Wilson’s goodbye to Pet Sounds

I just cannot figure out why someone would say this show is "horrible". Seeing the show last night in Phoenix (05/22), Brian's vocal limitations were not difficult to find, but isn't that to be expected from someone attempting to recreate the vocal range of their 24 year old self??? After all, these were highly sensitive vocal arrangements from the day they were written. It is all about perspective, and how you view your place as a part of the show. If you are looking for a stellar Wilson performance, don't go. If you are humbled by this great man, a true legend of our times, and are thankful just to share some time with him and his band, accepting all that may happen, good, bad, or otherwise, GO TO THIS SHOW!!! I would venture a large wager that 95% of the people in attendance last night fit the latter description. One quick note to the music director; I think they should have placed the Pet Sounds material much earlier in the show. This material was much more challenging for Brian, and if placed earlier in the show, he would have his freshest self available to tackle this difficult material. I was suprised at the length of the show, they pretty much left no stone unturned. The band was just amazing...I would be shocked to find anyone that would take issue with their performance.
