Early voting during the runoff

Lose two days of balloting for Thanksgiving

Early voting has been an increasingly popular option across the state. Secretary of State Tom Schedler says early voting accounts for nearly one out of five ballots cast in Louisiana in recent elections. Early voting for the Dec. 6 runoffs will begin on Saturday, Nov. 22, and continue through Saturday, Nov. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at designated polling locations.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, however, the early voting calendar will be abbreviated — there will be no early voting on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 27) or on Friday, Nov. 28.

Anyone can opt for early voting for any reason. To find out where early voting is available in your neighborhood, visit the Secretary of State's website at www.geauxvote.com.
