Festival Brasileiro 

The University of New Orleans kicks off Festival Brasileiro (Feb. 20-27), a series of seminars and musical performances showcasing Brazilian music, culture, film and particularly drumming and dance. Lectures highlight Brazil's colonial past and multicultural roots. Performances feature Casa Samba founder Curtis Pierre, percussionist Bill Summers and Irvin Mayfield.
