Five places to BYOB for free

Lebanon's Cafe (1500 S. Carrollton Ave., 504-862-6200; — The mural-wrapped Middle Eastern restaurant has a lengthy menu and outdoor seating.

Nearby booze: Jake's Uptown Supermarket (1940 Dante St., 504-861-1884) sells a full selection of beer, liquor and wine just a few blocks away.

Mona's Cafe (3901 Banks St., 504-482-7743) — The flagship Middle Eastern cafe has a spacious outdoor patio.

Nearby booze: Upgrade your meal with a discount bottle of wine from Pearl Wine Co. (3700 Orleans Ave., 504-483-6360;, a short ride from the restaurant.

Nearby booze: Walgreens pharmacy next door doesn't sell booze, but Rite Aid (7133 St. Charles Ave., 504-861-3638) near Broadway Street does.
