  The coffee scene in New Orleans continues to expand, with the arrival of craft coffee bars and pour-over spots from Uptown to the Bywater. Now, a new zine produced by Church Alley Coffee (1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., 504-638-0032; seeks to capture the moment in the city's coffee history.

  The first issue of the zine Tasting Coffee in NOLA was released recently, and producers hope to make it a quarterly publication. The slim volume features interviews with coffee providers around town, as well as mini-lessons about New Orleans' coffee history and the proper way to prepare classic coffee concoctions. Interviewees include Solo Espresso owner Lauren Morlock, Bacchanal chef Joaquin Rodas and one of Church Alley's first employees, Katie Murphy. Many of the pages feature whimsical illustrations or coffee-related photographs, and can be torn out and mailed as postcards.

  The $6 zine is available at Church Alley, May Books (2402 Royal St., 504-439-0846; and Solo Espresso (1301 Poland Ave., 504-408-1377;
