Re: “Gio's Villa Vancheri

I have eaten at Gio's twice and have to say that I do not recognize the place described in the second review (adietrick615). I didn't see that.
What I did see was a very authentic atmosphere and cuisine. The food is elegantly prepared and the flavor of the veal (that is what I had both times) is not covered with overpowering sauces, but delicately enhanced. That is what I am looking for and Gio's achieves it very nicely.
We found the service very friendly and timely and the chef came to see if we were satisfied. He was very nice, and we were very satisfied.

Re: “Perspective: Occupy New Orleans

You might want to reconsider killing the messenger. While I do not share his sympathy for the people that the state wants to imprison or kill, neither to I sympathize with those who believe that having more money than you entitles them to bribe your representatives to make the rules such that they can widen that gap. That is, indeed happening behind your back every minute of every day in this country. Your elected representatives are elected by their money and loyal to their interests and the rules are made so that their special interests will prevail over yours every time. The "Occupy" people are attempting to open the eyes of enough people to throw the bums out, both the special interest greed merchants and the politicians who know that their re-election chances depend upon the campaign and bribe money that they provide.

As an aside, the special interests (read: financial interests) are certainly aware of the power of Madison Avenue propaganda. They have gotten you to argue against your own best interests!
