Re: “Review: Biscuits & Buns on Banks

Yesterday I went to Biscuits & Buns on Banks. I asked before ordering if there were any peppers, cayenne, jalapeno, or even crab boil was used in their etouffee. Nope, only bell peppers. My friend's pot roast on a biscuit arrived and I took a little tiny taste...like one little string of the beef. FIRE MOUTH ensued. I look at the "manager" and said "What is in that pot roast?" He responds, "If I tell you, I'd have to kill you." Smart ass. "Well," says I, "You may already have killed me. The owner promised me that you used no crab boil or peppers of any kind in your food. There's something with capsaicin in that roast." "Just a little creole seasoning...only a little." Creole seasoning contains cayenne. "If someone had a peanut allergy would you fry their food in 'just a little' peanut oil? Is there "creole seasoning" in the etouffee I ordered.?" "Just a very little. Taste it." It was red hot! So, I ordered a plain waffle. The waffle was DELICIOUS!! But I can make a waffle at home.

The biscuits were heavy heavy heavy and hard as rocks. One was heavy, hard, yet uncooked inside. The mini biscuits were mini rocks all the way through. This is not a biscuit you expect when you're craving a biscuit. Huge disappointment.

When the waffle arrived, I picked up the syrup bottle and the top was not secured...syrup on the table, the chair, the floor, and of course, me. Sweet little waitress, but suspect this is the first restaurant these people have owned and I do not think it will last.

So now I have to add creole seasoning to my list....do you use crab boil, chiles, jalapenos, cayenne....or, scuse the F out of me...CREOLE SEASONING?? I thought I was quite generous with 2 stars.
