Y'all should read Howard Zinn's A People's History. One thing Zinn talked about is that there is no such thing as an unbiased historian. I ask you why is it that a predominantly black city needs to celebrate the history of white supremacist? Why statues of Robert E. Lee and not Harriet Tubman? Why Jeff Davis instaed of Marcus Garvey or Angela Davis or Sojurner Truth? White people aren't the only people with a history and it is a disgrace that we honor these bigots that are a stain on this nation's history. New Orleans has a rich and vibrant history with plenty of figures worth celebrating, so we should take down these damn monuments and replace them with monuments of people who fought oppression and for justice.
