Judith Owen

A recent show at the Ogden Museum's Ogden After Hours series highlighted Judith Owen's personal wit and charm as well as her ease mixing genres from folk to jazz. Her biggest fan (and partner), Harry Shearer, hung on every word at the side of the makeshift stage in Ogden's atrium, but if the packed house wasn't full of friends before the show, it felt like it was afterwards. Owen's work has drawn positive reviews from such media as USA Today and NPR. She released Mopping Up Karma (Courgette) in June. This performance in the Contemporary Arts Center's Music of New Orleans series offers a more formal stage for her talents. Tickets $20 general admission, $18 students/seniors, $15 CAC members. — Will Coviello
