Just a Perfect Day: New Work by Tim Best and Jillienne Buena 

For most folks, life is a hustle, as artist Tim Best knows all too well. Like a lot of us, he juggles several jobs and roles. Unlike the rest of us, he puts the rat race in his art, in photographic light boxes and other media that portray the hyper side of modern life, a world where guys in suits strike action poses like so many Clark Kents who never quite manage to morph into Superman. He shares space on the walls with Jillienne Buena, whose work deals with the consequences of life that goes by too quickly or chaotically to savor, leaving the bittersweet aftertaste of loss in its wake. Her work explores this condition as a reminder that "everything changes, yet nothing is truly lost." -- D. Eric Bookhardt
