Re: “Hospital Drama

When people say that Charity Hospital flooded, they forget to mention only the basement flooded. ONLY the basement. When people say that the new hospital will provide a "true teaching hospital", they forget to mention that that Charity WAS a TRUE TEACHING HOSPITAL.
Can you count how many people have died waiting for ANY hospital here? Not to mention how many have died from NOLA EAST waiting for health care? How many people have killed someone else because they didn't get mental health care? I worked at Charity. I saw the miracles we performed. I lived them.
I've been in the "shuttered" Charity building after the storm and went to my old office on an upper floor, ON THE ELEVATOR. So don't tell me it is non functional. If anyone is interested to see what it looked like after the storm, they only need to go to www.savecharityhospital.com to see videos of it after the staff and the military cleaned it up. Then look at what LSU presented to FEMA. Hmm, how did that happen? Also on that site is a statement by Dr. Frederic Wilson, ortho surgeon that talks about Charity being a great and true teaching facility.
One only needs to look at the reruns of City Council meetings where LSU presents their plan to see how they behave. The white haired guy with the beard, I thought he was going to stand up and stomp his foot down like a 2 year old cuz he wasn't getting what he wanted right away.
Oh and when a major storm comes and hits both this new facility if it's ever built and the Charity Hospital building, let's see which one is left standing. I also wonder how much money has been spent already on consultants and studies and who knows what else.
By the way, next time you go to your doctor, ask him where he trained.
