Wed. April 30 | Trumpeter Christian Scott performs a free show at Jazz in the Park. Tysson, the new project by John Michael Rouchell (formerly of MyNameIsJohnMichael) and Organ Grinders open. There's also an art market and kids' stage. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Louis Armstrong Park.

Late-rising soul man and Victim of Love (Daptone) Charles Bradley returns to anchor the second weekend of Jazz Fest, this time paired with Hurray For the Riff Raff, whose lovely ATO debut Small Town Heroes is the secret that got out. At 9 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks.

The Headhunters Superjam features Bill Summers, Donald Harrison Jr., Fred Wesley, Karl Denson and others. Noon to 8 p.m. at Mardi Gras World.
