Esme Patterson with Susto and Sam Doores
Thu. Nov. 30 | Whether solo (2016 standout We Were Wild), in a duo (Shakey Graves' folktale "Dearly Departed") or leading a full band (the underrated, now-defunct Paper Bird), Esme Patterson is the focus in every recording that features her. The bewitching singer/songwriter performs between headliner Susto and Deslondes frontman Sam Doores at 9 p.m. at Gasa Gasa.

The Avett Brothers
Fri. Dec. 1 | Rescheduled from March when Scott Avett fell ill with the flu, this gig makes good on the Brothers' pledge to bring True Sadness (American/Republic) to New Orleans — the Rick Rubin-produced, sing-along kind. At 7:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre.

Blato Zlato's The Discovery of Voyager
Fri.-Sat. Dec. 1-2 | To commemorate the 40th anniversary of NASA's Voyager and Carl Sagan's "golden records" aboard it, New Orleans' Balkans-inspired supergroup Blato Zlato stages a multimedia performance with a massive cast of musicians interpreting the songs as if alien life had discovered them. At 7 p.m. at the Music Box Village.

Rock Eupora
Sat. Dec. 2 | On Soon the Sun Will Come, Mississippi's Clayton Waller muddies his Nashville shine with nostalgic indie rock and heart-on-sleeve power-pop (think Marshall Crenshaw and Big Star), sprinkled with bittersweet hooks and trebly riffs. Midriff, Yung Vul and Jack Donovan open at 10 p.m. at Gasa Gasa.
