Tributes to zydeco legend Wilson "Boozoo" Chavis by his grandsons and their bands, RJ Chavis and Creole Sounds and Justin Chavis and the Dog Hill Stompers, lead off the 10th annual Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco festival in Louis Armstrong Park June 18-19. The festival lineup includes several of Acadiana's most popular bands, such as Cajun fiddler Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, accordionist Nathan Williams (pictured) and his Zydeco Cha-Chas, Roddie Romero and the Hub City All-Stars and Chris Ardoin & NuStep Zydeko, who perform a tribute to Beau Jocque. Also performing is New Orleans-based Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots.

Festival vendors highlight Louisiana seafood as well as boudin and Cajun items. More than 25 vendors will offer crafts and jewelry. A supervised kids tent is open from noon to 5 p.m. and features craft activities, drawing and face painting. Pets are not allowed. The free festival is organized by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.
