Making It Happen Festival

The Ashé Cultural Arts Center, Concordia LLC and the Center for Empowered Decision Making present a three-day rebuilding-resource festival and conference designed to complement the plans of the Mayor's Bring New Orleans Back Commission and the Governor's Louisiana Recovery Authority. The festival is a blend of resource networking and cultural activities. "Making It Happen" will feature cutting-edge practitioners whose programs have been successful in "challenging urban environments." Post-K New Orleans is certainly one of those. National and regional experts in community health, housing solutions, education and economic development (including HOPE Credit Union's Lynette Colin, pictured), will be in attendance. They will provide support and contribute to a community-based rebuilding strategy that involves all of its citizens and is specific to the needs of our city. Childcare and kids' activities will be provided. Volunteers needed. Call or visit Web site for detailed information. Registration requested. Free and open to the public.
