Theme: Celebrating 100 Years of Incorporation

Throws: Zulu coconuts, various krewe medallion beads
The Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club celebrates its history, marking a century since its official incorporation, though Zulu groups had marched since 1909, and under other guises years prior. The club announced the acquisition of signature floats for its many elected characters, including Witch Doctor, Province Prince, Mr. Big Stuff, the Big Shot and others. The procession includes krewe walking units such as the Zulu Tramps, Walking Warriors and others.

10 a.m.

Theme: Royal Gardens — Horti Regis
Floats: 28
Queen: announced Feb. 6
Rex: announced Feb. 6
Throws: beads and pillows for each theme float, krewe cups and beads
Rex themes often lend themselves to bright, colorful designs, and this year's floats depicting ancient and mythical gardens exemplify the concept. They feature the Garden of Eden, Versailles, Elysian Fields, Xanadu, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Gardens of Alhambra and Japan's Temple of the Silver Pavilion.

Floats: 15
Queen: Brooke Ann Kelly
King: Michael Hollis
Throws: captain's black doubloons, krewe emblem bouncing balls and cups
The procession includes meteorologist Bob Breck and mascots from the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. The theme is illustrated with design elements highlighting the Internet and popular social media platforms.
