Re: “Commentary: Our endorsements

For Caroline Fayard to try to equate Foster Campbell to David Duke is unconscionable.

Caroline Fayard claims to be the candidate of the future, but her race-baiting campaign sure stinks of the past. She has thrown caution, and her dignity, to the wind. She is trailing in the polls. In a desperate attempt to seem relevant, she is attacking Foster Campbell with dishonest and deceitful ads.

Ads that point out opponents records using facts are fair game and accentuate differences. But the juvenile attempt to cut audio to make a point that all who were there know never occurred is beneath a candidate for the US Senate. By rescinding their endorsement of Fayard, the Alliance for Good Government made the ethical decision.

Foster Campbell has been a fighter for ALL the people of Louisiana his whole life. He has bravely stood up for the people of Louisiana time and time again. Foster is a true public servant, which used to be a good thing. Fayards attempt to link Foster and Duke falls short on content and is shameful because of Fosters record of fighting for the very people her ads are meant to influence.

Caroline is trying to paint herself as a loyal Democrat and an outsider.

Luckily, the people of Louisiana can see through such deceit.

Now more than ever, Louisiana needs a US Senator who can get things done. Foster Campbell has a track record proving hes that person. Thats why Governor John Bel Edwards has endorsed Foster.

We should expect more of our leaders than race-baiting and trickery. Our leaders should be examples to our children of truthfulness and compassion. Fayards actions speak to her morals and are more reminiscent of the campaign Donald Trump is running with an overall strategy of win at any cost. Her scorched earth policy will not only hurt her, but also hurt the people and issues she professes to care about.

Please join me in calling for Fayard to take down her shameful, dishonest commercials so that we can lift Louisiana up instead of using its past to tear it down.
