Mystic Krewe of Barkus

Feb. 15

2 p.m. Sunday

Armstrong Park and French Quarter; www.barkus.org

In these troubled times in Gotham, Barkus offers its own parade of heroes in "BatMutt: The Bark Knight." Some masked villains are likely as well, but will there be a fearless Catwoman on the prowl, seeking to disrupt the celebration of man's best friend? The Pawty starts in Armstrong Park at 10:30 a.m. and continues after the procession makes its way around a 15-block route through the French Quarter. The loop passes by the customary reviewing stand at Good Friends Bar (740 Dauphine St.), where the royal court toasts honored guests. The Pawty features free music, and food and drink are available. Barkus proceeds benefit local animal welfare organizations. Advance registration $40, parade-day registration $50. — Will Coviello
