Re: “Gratitude for the Lutheran teens who visited New Orleans

Thank you, thank you New Orleans for a wonderful and inspirational place to bring our youth! The people of the city were awesome! Thanks so much to the people we met in Hobnobbers-a local eatery. The folks who worked there were so inviting and friendly and the patrons were grateful that we were in the city. There were 19 of us from Zion Lutheran and we learned what our theme really meant (God's work, our hands)on our service project day. We participated in a health fair at the city park, but when we loaded our bus with all of the leftover goods and took them to the people of New Orleans in other city park areas, our youth and adults got to really meet the local folks, experience New Orleans in a much different way, and see the face of Jesus in all that we met. Best of all, our group gained so much more than we ever expected. Again, thank you to all of the people of New Orleans who welcomed us into the city, showed us love, and embraced our efforts to do God's work with our hands.

God's love and ours,
