Re: “Commentary: Short-term rentals, big-time problems

In the past two years, as Operators and through our Association, we too have asked for and pushed for an unrestrictive avenue for entry/liscensing so we may begin remittance of hotel room taxes.
With fair and balanced regulations crafted, an open barrier to permitting, and a streamlined tax collection module-
We continue to look forward to working with city officials to help make New Orleans a Model City for high compliance rates in this registration process.
And we would like to thank the Guests and Visitors for those 20.000 plus reservations over Jazz Fest..! Thank you for visiting, we hope you found old world southern hospitality was still indeed very much alive, and come see us again y'all..

Re: “Short-term rental committee hosts contentious public meeting on enforcement, action

There are many sides to this issue, hopefully Gambit,, Times Pic will start looking at facts and actual numbers backed data, instead of sensationalism and headline journalism..
Short Term Rentals are not the cause of increased rental prices (compare pre and post Katrina blithed housing numbers as well as pre and post Katrina subsidized housing units).
In order to continue to live in this City we love and share, we took out loans to rebuild our houses, face increased insurance costs and have found a way to drive the local economy, serve as host embassaders to our City, and remain in our homes.
Listen to our side of this contentious debate, or at least have the journalistic credibility to ask us...
