Re: “Gratitude for the Lutheran teens who visited New Orleans

I was privileged to be an adult chaperone at this gathering, and not an hour goes by that I don't recall something that I experienced, with gratitude. We had so much fun (beignets! and Cajun dancing at Mulatte's), we had to walk ALOT!, we saw some difficult things (still so much to be done after Katrina), but it was ALL GOOD! I am humbled and so proud of all of the young people. They were enthusiastic and stepped out of their comfort zones to be the hands and feet of Christ. I was inspired by them, and I pray every day that "Jesus, Justice, Jazz" didn't end on July 27th, but that the spirit of service continues in all of our home churches, schools, and cities.
