The Ogden Museum of Southern Art marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of its main building, Stephen Goldring Hall, with a series of events. At Thursday's Ogden After Hours (6 p.m. – 8 p.m.), jazz pianist Matt Lemmler (pictured) debuts his "Southern Sonata and Songs for the Collection of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art." Admission to the museum is free on Friday, and current exhibitions include works by contemporary Louisiana artists, a show of Southern Imagists, outsider and self-taught artists and more. The annual Family Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Themed like a county fair, it features arts and crafts for children, games, a scavenger hunt, live music including a brass band from John McDonogh High School, entertainment by the Calliope Puppets and food and drink vendors.

In 1994, plans for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art were unveiled, and it became a permanent home for namesake and benefactor Roger Ogden's extensive collection of Southern art. A temporary gallery space opened on Julia Street in 1999, and the museum opened in 2003. — WILL COVIELLO
