To commemorate the New Orleans Tricentennial, NOLA City Bark will host the city's official Tricentennial Dog Parade on April 22, honoring the "lucky dogs" that get to call New Orleans their home.

What to expect:
Check-in will open at 10 a.m. at the grounds surrounding NOLA City Bark at 30 Zachary Taylor Drive in New Orleans City Park. At 11 a.m., the New Orleans Saints' mascot Gumbo will lead the dogs on a parade on the streets surrounding NOLA City Bark. Following the parade, participants can mingle with other local dog owners, compete in costume contests, visit sponsor tables for a chance to win additional prizes, get a free dog massage from Metairie Small Animal Hospital and more. Pro-tip: Bring your blankets and chairs to picnic in the big field following the parade.

Costume Contest:
Who doesn't love seeing a cute dog in costume? Dress your dogs up to compete in the following costume contest categories: Best NOLA-centric Attire, Most "Fest"ive Pet, Funniest Costume, and Best Pet Duo (dog and owner). Prizes include tickets to Zoo-to-Do, a membership to NOLA City Bark, a $100 gift certificate to Metairie Small Animal Hospital, a 5-day pass to Dogtopia, a gift basket from Magazine Street Animal Clinic and more.

Advance registration is $40 per dog and can be completed here. Day-of registrations will be sold for $45 on site.
