The five-day festival will span across multiple venues from April 5-9, 2018 as it promotes the musical legacy of the Ragtime movement through performance and education. Whether you're a ragtime enthusiast, vintage dancer, or just want to learn more about the music that gave birth to jazz, the Ragtime Festival is sure to entertain and educate you. Orange Kellin's New Orleans Deluxe Orchestra
Thursday, April 5 | 6-9pm
Preservation Hall Foundation

This 8-piece ensemble plays music from the heyday of Classic Jazz (1910s-20s) tailored to the group's unique strengths and will showcase New Orleans' style of loose interpretations, leaving room for each musician to bring the pieces to life with their own talents and style.

The New John Robichaux Society Orchestra
Friday, April 6 | 6pm
Scandia House

Tom Hook, leader of The New John Robichaux Society Orchestra, was able to access the original John Robichaux library and transcribe the original arrangements for modern instruments. As such, the group is able to recreate the sounds of the premier society orchestra in New Orleans in the years prior to the birth of ragtime and jazz.

The New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra
Saturday, April 7 | 11am - 3pm
Rock N Bowl

Founded in 1972, the New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra gets its name from the SS Leviathan, a transatlantic ocean liner with a well-regarded dance band in the 1920s.

The New Orleans Ragtime Festival Showcase
Sunday, April 8 | 11am - 4pm
The New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old US Mint

The showcase will highlight some of the best ragtime performers in New Orleans. The show is free to attend, with tickets available on a first come, first served basis. Claim your tickets at the link below.

Lars Enegran's New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra
Monday, April 9 | 7-10pm
Southport Hall

Lars Enegran formed the New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra in 1967 to perform the classic ragtime music that filled the city in the 1890s - 1920s. On April 9, they will once again bring back the sounds that stirred dancehalls of an earlier time.
