Re: “Gambit's Digital Edition, December 6, 2016

Gambit, Clancy, why no endorsement in the senate race? Kennedy may have once been an acceptable politician, but his years of being Governir President Bobby's enabler and the shameful way he toadied up to Vitter last election have made him look like the lying sack of opportunism that he is. Why not a full throated endorsement of the tested & ready democratic, at a time when it seems pretty important to have another drmocrat in the senate? Anyway Campbell is an actual populist, while Kennedy is just a really bad actor. DC should have the occasion to observe a real populist is contrart to the erzatz 'populism' of the (alleged) billionaire president.

Re: “Sean Payton to USA Today: "It's like the Wild, Wild West here"

The coach is right. It is insanely easy for any felon or moron to acquire a gun, and that cannot be the intention of the Second Amendment. We ought to be smart enough as citizens to be able to make some distinctions about the terrible right/responsibility of gun ownership.

Re: “Flat-earth Bobby: Gov. Bobby Jindal’s quixotic quest

Clancy says what needs to be said about this criminally wretched excuse for a governor; as usual, he says it very well. My only quibble is in the headline -- 'quixotic' implies something at least vaguely noble and admirable (or if we take it all the way back to the text of "Don Quixote," someone truly admirable), as well as striving toward an unattainable goal. For BJ, the goal is clearly unattainable, but there is nothing even vaguely admirable about his endless pandering and lying; he does not deserve the slightest feint in that direction, and using the too-generic adjective 'quixotic' affords him that undeserved hint of virtue. Jindal is delusional, destructive, running an administration and a campaign without merit. A shame he won't simply go away.
