Ramen Y’All moves into CBD Social House 

Ramen pop-up starts a regular residency in Warehouse District bar


Chef Yutaka Hitomi's Local ramen pop-up Ramen Y'all ( moved into a residency at new St. Charles Avenue bar CBD Social (709 St. Charles Ave.) in the Warehouse District Jan. 18.

  The space sandwiched between Herbsaint Bar & Restaurant and Marcello's Wine Market Cafe was home to Sicilian restaurant Cibugnu. After it closed in late 2015, the owners (who are behind Magazine Street spot Fat Boy Pantry) converted the location to an event space before rebranding it as CBD Social this month.

  Ramen Y'all has been popping up at local bars Barrel Proof and Freret Beer Room, and the new residency will be more permanent, with food served 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

  The opening menu included the chef's signature tonkotsu ramen, a creamy 12-hour pork bone broth topped with braised pork belly, marinated egg and charred garlic oil ($13). Okonomiyaki fries are topped with house-made Kewpie mayonnaise, Japanese barbecue sauce, sauteed cabbage, bacon bits and roasted seaweed ($8). Azuki bean-filled beignets are served with praline sauce ($6). A spicy version of the tonkotsu broth also will be available.
