Reform School Girls

Among all the cult-film classics, it's hard to match the climactic scene of Reform School Girls, in which former Plasmatics singer Wendy O. Williams, as reform school thug and warden's pet Charlie, commandeers a school bus and rides it (conclusion of Terminator 2-style) into a fiery mess, bringing down masochistic warden Sutter (Sybil Danning) from the tower where she took refuge during a prison riot. 'See you in hell," Williams hisses at Danning. Conceived as a satire of the otherwise upstanding genre of women-in-prison films, it sets the standard for schlock fetishism on screen. Fans can savor the classic in this staged-reading benefit for Running with Scissors. There won't be shower scenes, a flying bus or pyrotechnic finale, but Scissors' usual suspects will give women's detention centers a whole new spirit. Bad girls include Dorian Rush and Brad Caldwell (pictured), Bob Edes Jr., Donald Lewis, Jack Long, Sean Patterson, Brian Peterson, Lisa Picone, Cammie West and Liz Zibilich. Tickets $25. — Will Coviello
