   After months of derision and jokes from fans and media about Pierre the Pelican's frightening visage, the New Orleans Pelicans debuted the new "cuter" Pierre during a Pels game Feb. 12. Perhaps a good omen: the Pels won that night's match against the Milwaukee Bucks, 102-98 — despite some fans saying Pierre's new lantern beak, while less disturbing, made the bird look like comedian Jay Leno.
