Troy Andrews' Second Annual Bacchus Blowout

If New Orleans needed any more evidence that Trombone Shorty is all grown up, this is it. The onetime Tipitina's student/peer mentor returns for his second annual post-Bacchus funk blowout on the famous stage. His Orleans Avenue band has been ushering in a new generation of blazing hybrid funk, mixed with hip-hop, R&B and occasional bombastic hard rock all expertly blended into one explosive experience, perfect for honoring the god of all things hedonistic. Guitar legend Leo Nocentelli joins the band, as does the wildly energetic rapper 5th Ward Weebie, whose track 'F**k Katrina" was a concise and accurate post-storm expression that became a street anthem. The reliable party-starters of the Hot 8 Brass Band open. Tickets $12. — Alison Fensterstock

10 p.m. Sun., Feb. 3
