Tell us about yourself.

I grew up about 25 minutes outside of New Orleans and was lucky enough to spend my high school and graduate school years in this beautiful city. As soon as I completed my Masters of Arts Administration degree from the University of New Orleans, I got to work on my ultimate dream: opening the gallery. I'm excited to say Martine Chaisson Gallery has been open seven years this White Linen Night. I feel so grateful for all the love and support the New Orleans community has shown me. I'm looking forward to the next seven.

How do you describe your personal style?

It has definitely changed over the last two years since I've had my children. I like to have a versatile wardrobe that allows me to go to work in the gallery, install a show, or go to the playground. High heels usually get pushed to a nighttime extravagance because I'm on my feet all day.

What are you wearing to White Linen Night?

My dress is from Haute (Women's Boutique) on Magazine Street around the corner from the gallery. This dress fulfills all the requirements for the most hectic day of my entire year: It's lightweight, comfortable, dressy even with flats and most important, I feel confident in it. I also love Hattie Sparks in the South Market District and Clover (Boutique) in the Garden District. These boutiques are wonderful with helping me find exactly what I need for any event or party I might have.

Any tips for dressing for White Linen Night?

Style is important, but staying cool is equally important. Grab yourself a cocktail and a fan and embrace a light-colored frock.

What's inspiring you now?

The artists at my next two shows are really inspiring me both for their use of color and for their intricate detailing. The first is photographer Patty Carroll. Her work Anonymous Women: Draped is about experiencing the dichotomy of domesticity through camouflage.
