What, Has This Thing Appeared Again Tonight?

When the actors of the NOLA Project asked playwright Jim Fitzmorris to write something for the company to perform, he gave them more than they bargained for. He wrote a play about them. He even directs them in the piece " as they play themselves. 'It led to some weird moments in rehearsal," he says. The play is about the actors coming to New Orleans after Katrina to form the company. They were looking at using the wake of the tragedy to make something indelible, says Fitmorris. The members travel through the post-storm wreckage and ultimately to the Danziger Bridge, where they find the Terrifying Tome of Terrible Things. Upon opening it, they find that they are written into its pages. And from there, it's Fitmorris' story. Tickets $10. — Will Coviello
