Wine of the Week 

Spain's Toro wine zone along the Duero River produced this blend of 75 percent Tinta de Toro (a local variant of Tempranillo) and 25 percent Garnacha (Grenache) -- the only two red varietals permitted in the region. The Garnacha, from low-yielding, average-50-year-old vines, adds an exceptional quality to the blend. Intense black and red berry fruit aromas are followed by concentrated flavors of cherry and plum bursting in the mouth, with spicy black pepper and anise notes. A full-bodied, supple wine, well-structured with soft tannins. Serve with a hint of a chill on its own or with a variety of dishes including roasted meats, pastas and grilled vegetables. Available at Whole Foods Market on Esplanade Avenue, the new Hopper's Wines and Spirits in Uptown Square, and The Wine Seller.
