Wine of the Week 

The blend of grapes for this intense, velvety Pinot Noir was sourced from five select older vineyards residing on cooler slopes at higher elevations. A short burst of extreme heat at harvest produced fully ripened fruit that was fermented in small batches and then blended. Unfined and unfiltered, the wine was aged in 30 percent new French oak for 11 months and rested in the bottle for another five months before release. In the glass, a swirl reveals black currant mingling with blackberry and dark plum aromas. On the palate, take a break between sips to allow the luscious ripe cherry, cassis fruit flavors and white pepper nuances to develop into the long, sensuous finish afforded by this wine. Soft yet firm tannins are balanced with good acidity in a well-structured wine. Drink now and over the next four years.
