Wine of the Week

When drinking pink, the resemblance between real rosŽs and what producers refer to as blush wines is only skin deep. Since the juice from all grapes runs clear, the wine gains its color from skin contact or maceration. The grapes for this vintage Ñ a combination of Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache Ñ were sourced from Cotes de Provence vineyards along the Massif des Maures foothills. Racy, round and harmonious, the wine exhibits floral notes and exotic fruit aromas with strawberry and other red berry flavors on the palate. A fresh and lively wine with silky tannins, a bracing acidity and crisp finish. Serve chilled. Delightful as an aperitif or with a wide range of foods from grilled salmon, chicken and salads to spicy Asian cuisine and barbecue. Where to buy it: Sip Wine Market and Bacchanal. (Listings current at press time.)
