Wine of the Week 

Well-balanced and food-friendly with complexity and finesse, this wine was made from grapes sourced from southern Australia's Yarra Valley and other cool-climate premium vineyards in the Victoria region. Produced with nearly 100 percent Shiraz fruit — with a small amount of Viognier added Ñ the wine was aged 18 months in both new and old French barriques. In the glass, ripe dark fruit aromas prevail, pepper-tinged with hints of vanillin oak leading into red and blackberry fruit flavors, sweet spice and peppery notes in a most engaging expression of varietal character. It will continue to develop during the next 5 to 10 years. It's a good match with grilled chops, meatloaf, poultry and game.
