Wine of the Week 

Italian Pinot Grigio has ridden a tidal wave of popularity among American wine consumers for many years, yet there's plenty of good juice from the Pinot Grigio (also called Pinot Gris) grape coming from the West Coast. This Pinot Grigio from California's central coast lives up to the usual characteristics drinkers expect from the varietal. It is refreshing, food friendly, well structured and has balanced acidity. In the glass, floral notes tinged with honeysuckle, pear and lemony aromas carry over on the palate with more citrus, apple flavors and a trace of spice leading to a crisp, zesty finish. It's a great quaffing wine, and a good choice for sipping with seafood, shellfish, white meats, soups, salads and light pasta dishes.
