Meetings this month on city's proposed CZO

The New Orleans City Planning Commission (CPC) will continue holding neighborhood meetings to discuss the proposed new Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO), the binding laws covering all land use matters and defining zoning standards for neighborhoods and parcels of land throughout the city. The first draft was released in 2011 following a series of neighborhood meetings, and the latest draft incorporates comments and concerns from the more than 2,000 residents at those meetings. This round will be the final series before the CPC makes additional changes to the CZO for a final vote of approval.

The meetings will be held at the following locations from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Dr. King Charter School (1617 Caffin Ave.), Oct. 7; Edward Hynes Charter School (3774 Gentilly Blvd.), Oct. 9; Andrew H. Wilson Charter School (3617 General Pershing St.), Oct. 10; Dryades YMCA (2200 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.), Oct. 14; KIPP New Orleans Leadership Academy (2300 St. Claude Ave.), Oct. 16; and Treme Community Center (900 N.
